THE
CHESHIRE
CHEESE HOTEL
Don Street, Church Way,
Doncaster,
DN1 2SD
In 1877 my
grandmother Rosa Susannah Barrett was born here.
Her father John Barrett, a printer and compositor was the
landlord & licensee.
A mason's handiwork, low down on the nearest chimney stack, shows
in
large figures that the hotel was
built
in '1808'
(Google/Street-view).
It was a Coaching Inn before the
birth of the railways.
